  • Smt. Sheila Dikshit started her historic third term as the Chief Minister of the Government of NCT of Delhi on December 17, 2008. Her approach has always been the holistic development of the city state of Delhi. Some of the concrete achievements during her term as Chief Minister of Delhi include the starting of Metro, CNG fuelled public transport system, numerous Flyovers, cleaner Environment, substantial increase in the Green cover (from 26 sq km in 1998 to over 300 sq km in 2008), reforms in the Power sector, marked improvement in standard and results of Government schools, an extended and quality Public Health infrastructure and various income generation schemes for the marginalized sections of the society.

  • Mr. Prithviraj Chavan a Minister in the Union Cabinet has been a Member of the Indian Parliament since 1991. As a Member of the Council of Ministers, he attends the Cabinet, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, the Cabinet Committee on Prices, the Cabinet Committee on WTO matters and the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs. He is also a Member of the Atomic Energy Commission and the Space Commission, the highest policy making bodies in the respective fields, and a Member of the Prime Minister's Committee on Infrastructure, Energy Coordination Committee, Trade and Economic Relations Committee and the Committee on Trade and Industry.
  • Dr. Kiran Bedi - Former DG, Delhi Bureau of Police Research and Development
  • Kiran Bedi was the first woman police officer of the Indian Police Service, back in 1973. During her stint as the Inspector General of Prisons, Tihar Jail (Delhi) (1993-1995), she initiated a number of reforms such as detoxification programs, yoga, vipassana meditation, and literacy programs, for which she won the 1994 Ramon Magsaysay Award. After retirement Kiran Bedi launched a new website, www.saferindia.com to help people whose complaints are not accepted by the local police. This project is undertaken by the non-profit, voluntary and non-government organisation, India Vision Foundation. She authored an autobiography, 'I Dare. It's Always Possible' which was released in 1998.

  • Robert J Levine is Professor of Medicine and Lecturer in Pharmacology at Yale University School of Medicine, Director of the Law, Policy and Ethics Core of Yale University's Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS and Senior Fellow in Yale University's Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics. He is a fellow of The Hastings Center, the American College of Physicians and the American Association for the Advancement of Science; a member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, a Director and recently past Vice President of PRIM&R (Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research), Past-President (2 terms) of the American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics and past-Chairman of the Connecticut Humanities Council. In the past he was also Chair of the Institutional Review Board at Yale-New Haven Medical Center (1969 - 2000), Chief of the Section of Clinical Pharmacology and Founding Co-Director of the Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics at Yale, Chairman of the Section on Medico-Legal Matters and R&D Administration of the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Associate Editor of Biochemical Pharmacology and Editor of Clinical Research.

  • Jeffery D Sachs is an American economist known for his work as an economic advisor to governments in Latin America, Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union, Asia, and Africa. He proposed Shock therapy (economics)|shock therapy (though he himself hates the term) as a solution to the economic crises of Economy of Bolivia, Economy of Poland, and Economy of Russia. He is also known for his work with international agencies on problems of poverty reduction, debt cancellation, and disease control - especially AIDS|HIV/AIDS, for the developing world.
    Sachs' research interests include the links of health and development, economic geography, globalization, transitions to market economy market economies, international financial markets, international macroeconomic policy coordination, emerging markets, Development economics, economic development and growth, global competitiveness, and macroeconomic policies in developing and developed countries.
  • BM Vyas - Former Managing Director, Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF)
  • BM Vyas, the man who played a conduit in the success of Amul, has an indispensable association with it. Under his leadership, the sales turnover of the cooperatives under Amul reached a remarkable Rs 8,000 crore and member unions made a record milk collection of 110 lakh litres per day. Vyas is also credited with diversification of Amul into various categories like ice cream, curd, paneer, cheese, and condensed milk. Vyas joined amul in the year 1978. He was appointed as the Managing Director of GCMMF in 1994.
    With his in-depth knowledge of the dairy industry, Vyas is considered to be one of the most influential personalities in India's dairy segment.

  • Prof. V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai is the Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. He is also the Chairman of the Distance Education Council (DEC), which looks after the co-ordination of standards, quality, recognition and developmental assistance to all the 13 State Open Universities in the country. For the last 15 years, Prof. V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai has been working at the Vice-Chancellor or Vice-Chancellor level positions in Universities/National Institutions. His experiences and contributions to the field of science and educational administration are rich and varied over his 38 years of service.

  • Mr. Carl Bass is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Autodesk Inc. since May 2006. He drove the firm to a planned annual release cycle for the AutoCAD family of products and successfully stewarded Autodesk's product line transition from 2D to 3D and model-based design. Additionally, Mr. Bass was instrumental in driving several growth initiatives including expansion into the Chinese market and developing Autodesk's lifecycle management strategy.   • Arun Majumdar - Director, Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E)
  • Arun Majumdar is the Director US ARPA-E and Ex-Deputy Director Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory. He currently holds the Almy and Agnes Maynard Chair Professorship in the College of Engineering. In addition to his faculty appointment, Professor Majumdar serves as the Director of the Berkeley Nanosciences and Nanoengineering Institute. He is also a member of the Nanotechnology Technical Advisory Group to the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST). Professor Majumdar is a recipient of several awards, and is a fellow of ASME and AAAS, and a member of the US National Academy of Engineering.

  • Nandan Nilekani currently serves as the Chairman of the new Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), after a successful career at Infosys Technologies Ltd, which he co-founded. He was the inspiration behind the book, The World is Flat and authored the book " Imaging India". In January 2006, Nandan became one of the youngest entrepreneurs to join 20 global leaders on the prestigious World Economic Forum (WEF) Foundation Board. He was also conferred the Padma Bhushan, one of the highest civilian honors of India in the same year.
