Since inception, the PanIIT Global Alumni Conference has been held alternatively in the US and in India - San Jose (2003), New Delhi (2004), Washington DC (2005), Mumbai (2006), Santa Clara (2007), and Chennai (2008). It has established itself as a premier event, by bringing together an eclectic group of industry visionaries, thought leaders and IIT Alumni from across the globe.

PanIIT is not just an annual congregation of IIT Alumni, but has also undertaken and implemented nation building projects under this umbrella. Over 400 Distinguished Alumni, the crème de la crème, play a guiding role in PanIIT's projects and initiatives. As a young and vibrant organization with a passion to provide a forum for the IIT Alumni to give back to society, PanIIT has ambitious plans to:

  • Assist in research and technology initiatives
  • Foster entrepreneurship
  • Help face the challenges and leverage the opportunities in India's infrastructure
  • Enhance the quality and accessibility in education
  • Act as a catalyst in bringing innovation to government
  • Inspire and engage more IIT Alumni in the transformation of rural India

Working in close co-operation with IITs, PanIIT's Executive Council has two representatives from each of the IITs, which provides a strong link to the IIT Administration.

Pan IIT is also forging a strong link with the Ministry of Human Resources and is playing a vital role in formulations of Technical, Vocational and Research related policies of the Government.
